Charl Lane Elias grew up on the Gulf Coast, in and around Houston and New Orleans. She is a self-taught photographer who, since 1988, has been lucky enough to work with some truly gifted and generous artists. She spent a year living and photographing on the West coast of India, then ten years on the East side of Manhattan. In NYC she also provided imaging, design, and interactive services to such clients as the Whitney Museum of American Art, Nomura Securities, MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and the Sundance Channel.Charl now resides in upstate New York with her husband David and their two Boston Terriers. She is an exhibiting artist, and her work has also been seen internationally in publications as varied as the Saratogian, Punk Rock Confidential, and Unique Arts magazine.
David A. Elias was born and raised outside of Utica, NY. After graduating the Millbrook School he attended S.U.N.Y Albany, earning his B.A. in European history. Moving out West David settled in San Francisco and pursued his love of food. He secured an A.O.S. in the culinary arts from the California Culinary Academy, subsequently cooking in a number of San Francisco's prestigious eateries such as Masa's and Bix. Long involved in the music and art scene, David also managed and produced the seminal San Francisco punk band the VKTMS as well as founding and running Daflspitz Records along with fellow chef John Eisenhart. David has also lived in the province of Murcia, Spain as well as the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where he and Charl met.
